World of Warcraft is one of the longest-running online multiplayer role-playing games in the world. The game was released back in 2004 and continues to be moderated and updated by Blizzard. It is still played religiously by millions of users from all over the globe. The game is classified as a massively multiplayer online role-playing game and allows you control your own character from either a third- or a first-person viewpoint.
World of Warcraft (WoW) is all about developing your character, and their talents and skills. Once you have selected one of the many races in the game and created your character, you will enter a massive world. To initiate a game session, players are required first to choose a server. In the game, the server is known as the realm. Each realm significantly differs from one another.
The WoW Realms
The Normal realm is focused on a player-versus-environment strategy. If you choose to enter this realm, you will be focused mostly on defeating different monsters and finishing detailed quests. These quests are given by NPCs in the game. Role-play (RP) is optional in this realm, while PvP fights require consent.
The PvP realm is similar to the Normal realm, though PvP fights are open and can be initiated without consent. RP is about roleplaying as a specific character, while RP-PvP is one where cross-faction combat is combined with in-character players. Over the years, many different expansions have been released, the most recent of which was Warlords of Draenor. Before this, the Mists of Pandaria was released, which introduced a new playable class, the Pandaren.
Warlords of Draenor
However, the latest expansion is set in the mystical lands of Draenor. The expansion also raises the level cap from 90 to 100. Most importantly, Warlords of Draenor also introduces new upgradable garrisons that are only built by players. The character models have also been significantly enhanced, while numerous graphical upgrades have been made. A new difficulty mode known as Mythic was introduced along with two different types of raid.
The expansion also allows players to recruit non-playable characters and send them out on missions. A garrison can be made using the standard buildings in the game, like the armouries and the stables. A number of PvP adjustments were made in the game as well. Moreover, the proving grounds were also updated for Warlords of Draenor. New requirements were set in place for people who wanted to sign up for random matchmaking.
The events of the expansion take players to Draenor, the homeworld of the orcs. Many of the game’s legendary characters, such as the Blackhand, Ner’zhul and Gul’dan are expected to return to the game. The challenge modes were also updated for the game.
Warlords of Draenor has been very well-received by the critics. It also helped Blizzard regenerate interest in the Warcraft series, with thousands of players reactivating their accounts in order to play the game.
