  1. I firmly believe the long-term solution begins with replacing our power generation from coal to natural gas, along with refit of all diesel transportation to natural gas.
    We need to dramatically scale back corn-based ethanol production as it is an environmental disaster waiting to happen, with all the newly engineered organisms released without knowledge of the impact of consequences to the ecosystem.
    Bio-fuel should be limited to use of waste products and low-impact and renewable sources such asThe ul algae that won’t create massive amounts of waste infiltrated with toxins.
    The ultimate goal should be a hydrogen model with a balanced plan to convert CO2 to oxygen and other stabilizing gases.
    In addition, since there are vast quantities of methane locked in permafrost and the seabed, we need to explore ways to mitigate releases, utilize existing and create new types of storage sinks.
