Courageous Chinese Tightrope Walkers Break World Record

Chinese tightrope walker Adil Hoshur and two of his apprentices set a new world record after simultaneously walking on a 1,400-metre long wire, China’s state television reported. The walk took place above the Dehang canyon in central China’s Hunan Province. Adil Hoshur, 41, was joined by apprentices Ayshem Guli and Shatyr. They completed the walk 350 metres above ground, without any protection measures. Tightrope walking, or “Darwaz”, is a traditional acrobatic art of the Uyghur people in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
